When is the best time to activate my new debit card?

Follow

Please ensure that all recurring payments, bills and/or checks are fully paid out of your old Aspiration (Radius) Summit account before you activate your new debit card. Activating your new debit card will trigger the transfer of funds to your new account. Since the balance in your old Aspiration (Radius) Summit account will be $0 after this transfer, payments or checks linked to that account will be rejected.

If your new debit card is activated before 8am PT on a business day, your old card will be deactivated that same morning, around 8am PT.

If your new debit card is activated after 8am PT on a business day or on a non-business day, your old card will not be immediately deactivated; it will be deactivated around 8am PT the following business day. The wire transfer to move your funds from your old account to your new one will also happen the following business day. This means that if you activate your new debit card on a Friday at 3pm PT, for example, you can still use your old debit card over the weekend.
