Can I send an electronic check?

Using the app, you can fill out details for us to mail a payment by check. This is not an electronic payment, but a physical mailed check.

  • The person or business you designate for payment will be mailed a paper check with your name and address printed on it. Checks are typically delivered in 7 business days.
  • This service is free, and there's no limit to the number of payments you can send!
  • Money from a Payment will always be debited from your checking account. Money will only be debited from your checking account once the payee receives and deposits the check - and not at the time you schedule the Payment.
  • There is no overdraft protection available for checks written, and it is up to you to ensure you have enough funds in your account to cover the Payment at the time it is deposited.

To mail a check from the app:

  1. Sign in on the app
  2. Depending on the app version you're using, tap "Move Money" or "Manage"
  3. Tap "Mail Checks"
  4. Tap "Mail A Check"
  5. Fill in the information on the screen
  6. Tap Preview
  7. Tap Schedule This Check

You can cancel the scheduled check prior to its mailing date. To stop a Payment after a check has already been mailed, please give us a call at 800-683-8529. We can attempt to issue a stop payment up to 14 days after the check is mailed - as long as it has not yet been deposited. 

Undeliverable checks will be returned to your permanent address on file (not your mailing address). 

 

Pay someone faster than mailing a check

You can use a third party app, send a wire, withdraw cash, or use an online payment portal to enter card or account information.
