Payments is Aspiration's tool for sending money to pay your bills or to pay a friend. The person or business you designate for payment will be mailed a paper check with your name and address printed on it. This service is free, and there's no limit to the number of payments you can send!
The Payments feature is available only on the Aspiration mobile app. After scheduling a new Payment on the mobile app, you can expect it to arrive to your designated payee within 5-7 business days from the scheduled send date. Payments can be canceled on the mobile app up until the day before the scheduled send date.
To stop a Payment after a check has already been mailed, please give us a call at 800-683-8529. We can issue a stop payment up to 14 days after the check is mailed - as long as it has not yet been deposited. As part of our commitment to having our members Pay What Is Fair, there is no fee for stop payments on checks mailed via Payments.
Undeliverable checks will be returned to your permanent address on file (not your mailing address).
Money from a Payment will always be debited from Aspiration Spend, and not Aspiration Save. Note that after scheduling a Payment, money will only be debited from Aspiration Spend once the payee receives and deposits the check - and not at the time you schedule the Payment. Please do keep this in mind so that you don’t accidentally spend those funds! There is no overdraft protection available for checks written, and it is up to you to ensure you have enough funds in your account to cover the Payment at the time it is deposited.
