Eligibility for New Applicants
To apply for a Checking & Savings Account with GreenFi, you must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident* of the United States (including District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands).
*Adults with a 10-Year Permanent Resident Card; a 2-Year Green Card will not meet this requirement.
New Account Funding
Once your new account is funded, you can begin using your GreenFi debit card, send & receive money with your checking account, and start saving with your savings account.
Options for funding a new account:
- Link a bank and complete a transfer
- Set up a Direct Deposit
- Deposit cash at an Allpoint + ATM machine
- Deposit a paper check or money order through our app
These are the most recommended ways to fund a new account. After 30 days of account use, you may receive wire transfers and use 3rd party tools like Cash app. Customers may also choose to use another personal bank account in their own name to transfer funds to GreenFi using tools on that bank's website.
Prior Customers and Returning Applicants
Prior Checking & Savings account holders with closed accounts are not eligible to reapply or reopen accounts at this time, but may be eligible to:
- Apply for a Joint checking & savings account via an invite from an existing GreenFi customer.
- Apply for a Redwood Investment account or IRA.
If you believe your application was rejected in error, please contact us. If you have an old incomplete application under another email address, please login to that application to complete the process as you cannot enter duplicate personal information into a new application.
