1099 Tax Forms

If you earned $10 or more in interest during the prior calendar year, or $600 or more in promotional credits, we will post a 1099 tax form in your account by January 31st.

You can access your tax forms alongside your statements on our website:

  • Sign in to your account
  • Tap Settings, or click on the profile icon in the top right corner to reach the settings menu
  • Tap Statements & Documents
  • Choose the account you need documents for, and download your forms

From the app:

  • Sign in to your account
  • Tap your profile icon in the top right corner
  • Tap Statements & Documents
  • Choose the account you need documents for, and download your forms

Important:

  • If you did not receive a 1099 for the tax year, then you were below the required reporting threshold and will not need to include your GreenFi Checking & Savings account income when you file taxes (and will not need GreenFi's Tax ID). If you believe this is in error as you earned more than $10 in interest or $600 in promotional credits, please contact us
  • If you did receive a 1099, you will see GreenFi's Tax ID on the document.

Receiving Your Tax Refund Electronically

  • Use your account to receive your tax refund via direct deposit into your checking or savings account.
  • To locate your account and routing numbers, log in to your account and navigate to Settings > Account Info
  • When will your refund be available? The availability of your refund depends on your filing date and IRS processing times.

Depositing a Tax Refund Check

  • You can deposit tax refund checks with us, including checks made out to both you and another individual, as long as both parties sign the check.
    • Please note that all deposits are subject to review by our Operations/Checks Review Team.

Using Your Account to Pay Taxes

You can electronically pay your taxes using your account details. Simply provide your routing number and bank account number to your tax payment processor when submitting your payment.

Paying Tax Preparers

If you are using a tax preparer to file your taxes, you can also provide your account details (routing and bank account number) to settle their fees. Most tax preparers accept electronic payments, and using your checking or savings account ensures quick and easy payment.

  • How you can pay taxes depends on your tax payment processor. Typically, you can use your  account’s routing and account numbers or, if applicable, your debit card to make payments to satisfy any tax obligations.
