Can I earn Rewards for referring a friend?
Yes! You and your friends and family can each earn a cash bonus of $75.00 and fund the planting of 25 trees for a qualifying referral! By referring others to GreenFi, you can earn up to $750.00 in bonuses each calendar year.
How do I refer a friend or family member to GreenFi?
Tap the gift link icon at the top of the app’s Home screen to open up the referrals page. From there, you can share your unique referral link via text or email. Nearby friends can also scan your unique referral QR code to get started.
How can I earn a Referral Bonus?
You and the person you refer will EACH receive a bonus of $75.00 plus 25 funded trees after the following criteria are met:
- The person you refer must open and fund a GreenFi Checking & Savings account using your unique link.
- Your referrals must not already have an application or account on file in our system prior to creating an application via your unique referral link.
- The person you refer must receive a qualifying direct deposit of at least $200 from their employer, payroll provider or benefits provider within 45 days of opening a GreenFi Checking & Savings account.
I referred someone. What is the status of my Referral Bonus?
We will email you and credit your Checking account typically within 5 business days of your qualifying referral meeting the terms and conditions of the referral program. If you have not received an email or credit in your account this likely means:
- The person you referred has not signed up or was not eligible due to already being in our system
- The person you referred opened a Checking & Savings account, but did not use your unique referral link
- The person you referred opened a Checking & Savings account, but has not made a qualifying direct deposit, or did not make a qualifying direct deposit within 45 days of opening their account.

- You applied for a GreenFi account for the first time using the unique referral link or QR code received from an eligible GreenFi member
- You received a qualifying direct deposit of at least $200 into your GreenFi account within 45 days of opening your account

Do I owe taxes on referral bonuses that I received?
GreenFi will issue you a 1099 for bonuses paid to you during the tax year. All promotional payouts and bonuses paid are considered taxable income.
